Chirping Ecobee 4 Issue Solved!!

A few days ago my Ecobee 4 smart thermostat started to randomly chirp regardless of the fact that it would be dead silent in the house. So after numerous internet searches and calling Ecobee support twice and running into dead ends I finally found the root of the problem. The problem originated with the fact that we installed the smart thermostat six months ago without initializing the Alexa app. So a few days ago I finally initiated Alexa voice command and that is when all the chirping started. Turns out that Amazon has a default setting inside the Alexa app that allows for notification messages to automatically come through as a chirping, blinking green/blue light and a bubble message icon on the front screen that is inaccessible via the wall unit or app.

Typically when you have a new notification on an apple device a red number icon will pop up alerting you to the notification. However the Alexa  app does not adhere to this simple courtesy and I was unable to determine what the notification message was before deleting the message and ridding myself of the horribly intrusive loud chirping noise.
