Jet Boil Pot Adapter for Moka Pot

I picked up the jet boil pot adapter on clearance for $9.00 and thought I would test it out with my moka pots.

There is the single cup espresso moka pot which is the smallest of all the stove top espresso makers. The jet boil pot adapter WILL NOT work with the single cup moka pot. The base of the moka pot is too small fit the prongs.

3in stainless steel drain cover for $8.00

The pressure fitting legs of the drain cover need to be gently pried open in order to avoid sliding into the vent holes in the jet boil base.

Note the opening holes in the jet boil base.

Now the mini espresso maker will work on the jet boil base.

Large Moka Pot 2cup+

The jet boil pot adapter will work with all larger base stove top espresso makers such as this two cup maker and larger. however the DIY drain cover pot adapter will work with all sizes.

Form Factor

The drain cover will not nest 100% inside of the jet boil cup as it is too wide but it does sit flush as a loose top cover. The jet boil pot adapter is designed to pack down and nest inside of the jet boil cup but I nested it inside of my smallest pot. However ⚠️ a redesign was done in 2025 to address the fact that this style shown here does not endure long term use with cooking pots ultimately causing the prongs to stiffen in place and not rotate down for compact nesting.

Using cooking oil and direct heat on the stainless steel can create a temporary non stick protection.

Real World Use

The drain adapter plate should not be used to hold and heat pots because it blocks the flame and becomes distorted. Instead use the jet oil pot adapter for narrow small pots like the Stanley pot.
