I made this reusable cloth TP roll for my own personal use to be used with a bidet and only after peeing. I do not recommend using cloth TP for cleaning or drying after defecting aka going #2, as this is a high transmission route for diseases and urinary tract infections for women and young girls.

I couldn’t find anything online on how to make this and then once I sat down in front of my sewing machine it all just came together effortlessly.

I had all the supplies I needed at home. For what it is worth I have the Kam snap pliers of which I had ordered online a long time ago. I found my terry cloth in Joann’s remnants and I used fat quarts for my face fabric.

Supplies

  • Face fabric of choice (decorative cotton)
  • Drying fabric of choice (Terry cloth, minky, bamboo, flannel.. etc)
  • Ruler
  • Fabric pen
  • Sewing machine
  • Button snap pliers and buttons

  1. Pre Wash and iron fabrics
  2. Cut fabric to 5in x 8in
  3. Pin face fabrics together
  4. Use a straight stitch with 1/4 in seam allowance to sew all edges and leaving a 2-3in opening.
  5. Cut corners off
  6. Turn face fabric right side out through 2-3in opening
  7. Tuck and iron the 2-3in opening and along the entire perimeter
  8. Sew entire perimeter starting and ending at the 2-3in opening.
  9. Sew another perimeter 1/2 in inside
  10. Sew a straight stitch or basting stitch in the center.

Button Snaps

Measure the center point 2.25in and mark

Use button piercer to make hole and install buttons. CAUTION: pay close attention to the snap application orientation so as not to accidentally install upside down or the incorrect fastener.

Once all is complete throw the lot into the washing machine!

I recommend using a secured garment bag if you have a washing machine with an agitator.

Hanger

Now for the grand finale…The hanger. The hanger is perfect for stopping the last few pieces from falling to the floor.

I am sorry to say that there was no rhyme or reasoning to making this final piece. I didn’t make any measurements or anything. I simply found a piece of scrap ripstop nylon fabric sewed it together face sides together, turned it inside out, and added snap buttons! I called it done, fin, The End!
